Hey guys,
I'm looking for examples of laws that have controlled how people acted and behaved, justification of these laws and their consequences.
Thanks!Examples of laws that control how people behave and their implications on society.?
Prohibition banned alcohol in the US. People drank anyway. Organized crime flourished. Criminals became very wealthy because of this.
Before No Fault divorce laws, grounds were needed to end a marriage. The person at fault for ending the marriage could suffer financially for his or her actions. Under No Fault laws the divorce rate soared. Under the No Fault laws, both parties in the divorce proceeding were treated with much more fairness.
Before abortion was legalized, women still obtained abortions. They were completed in secret and sometimes with deadly outcomes. People often paid outrageous sums of money (in today's dollars) to get them.Examples of laws that control how people behave and their implications on society.?
Modern laws or ones from the past?
I know that speaking against one's government or rule was, at some points, punishable by death.
Also, the ';prima nocta'; or ';droit de seigneur'; was a right supposedly invoked by lords throughout the middle ages to take the virginity of any women or girls who stay on their land.
