Is Obama following China's example of quashing dissent by attacking citizens,TV stations, internet controls?

Why is it that ultimately all of Obama's and the Democrats policies seem to point to totalitarianism? Is Obama following China's example of quashing dissent by attacking citizens,TV stations, internet controls?
He wants communism. Bush 2012Is Obama following China's example of quashing dissent by attacking citizens,TV stations, internet controls?
Obama appears to want to be America's first dictator. He along with Congress are well on their way to doing so. They are doing it so far because many people are too ignorant to what is going on. Bush never attacked private citizens. Democrats love to attack private citizens like Joe the Plummer and any other person who speaks out against one of their own. Every woman that said she had sex with Bill Clinton or he tried to have sex with was made to look like a liar or worse. Obama and the dems have just perfected that little skill.
YOU HAVE %26gt;GOT%26lt; TO BE JOKING, Or just a 12 yr.old with out a clue. The Bush Regime was as close as America has ever come to a Dictatorship! Here, Read This, And Please Read all 10, Then go back and delete this ? to save face on YA

Last autumn, there was a military coup in Thailand. The leaders of the coup took a number of steps, rather systematically, as if they had a shopping list. In a sense, they did. Within a matter of days, democracy had been closed down: the coup leaders declared martial law, sent armed soldiers into residential areas, took over radio and TV stations, issued restrictions on the press, tightened some limits on travel, and took certain activists into custody.

They were not figuring these things out as they went along. If you look at history, you can see that there is essentially a blueprint for turning an open society into a dictatorship. That blueprint has been used again and again in more and less bloody, more and less terrifying ways. But it is always effective. It is very difficult and arduous to create and sustain a democracy - but history shows that closing one down is much simpler. You simply have to be willing to take the 10 steps.

As difficult as this is to contemplate, it is clear, if you are willing to look, that each of these 10 steps has already been initiated today in the United States by the Bush administration.

Because Americans like me were born in freedom, we have a hard time even considering that it is possible for us to become as unfree - domestically - as many other nations. Because we no longer learn much about our rights or our system of government - the task of being aware of the constitution has been outsourced from citizens' ownership to being the domain of professionals such as lawyers and professors - we scarcely recognise the checks and balances that the founders put in place, even as they are being systematically dismantled. Because we don't learn much about European history, the setting up of a department of ';homeland'; security - remember who else was keen on the word ';homeland'; - didn't raise the alarm bells it might have.

It is my argument that, beneath our very noses, George Bush and his administration are using time-tested tactics to close down an open society. It is time for us to be willing to think the unthinkable - as the author and political journalist Joe Conason, has put it, that it can happen here. And that we are further along than we realise.

Conason eloquently warned of the danger of American authoritarianism. I am arguing that we need also to look at the lessons of European and other kinds of fascism to understand the potential seriousness of the events we see unfolding in the US
obama's heroes all did the same ';quashing';, hitler, stalin, castro, Mao,, the list goes on. And this way of taking over a country and keeping people ';in check';, has been going on for a very long time in history. This is why the founding fathers created the First Ammendment, and kept it as First.
I can only think of one thing that happened under the Bush Administration that curtailed the rights of everyone.

It's that G.D. PATRIOT ACT. I HATE IT, IT SHOULD BE REPEALED.
That's the playbook he's using.

The three finger salute to control:

Socialism

Communism

Radicalism
I will pay for your ticket to Bejing if you promise to test your theory there by doing there what you do here.
Yes.

That's why you can't post ridiculous lies about Obama on YA anymore.

No, wait ................
Every time I think I've seen the most ridicules question ever another like this proves me wrong!
Yes is such - the third world already goes in America, and silly it do not notice.
yes, he's like Chavez. And Dunn adores Mao, who killed 70 million
obama and all his radical buddies gotta go while there's still time to fix the damage they've done.
And yet you still get to attack him every day.

What a *****.

thnksWhat does the literary term Controlling metaphor mean? could u give an example also from a piece of literature
A controlling metaphor or conceit runs through an entire work and determines the form or nature of that work. An example might be John Donne's ';The Flea';

The term is generally associated in contemporary usage with the 17th century metaphysical poets. In the metaphysical conceit, metaphors have a much more purely conceptual, and thus tenuous, relationship to the thing being compared. Helen Gardner[2] observed that ';a conceit is a comparison whose ingenuity is more striking than its justness.';... a comparison becomes a conceit when we are made to concede likeness while being strongly conscious of unlikeness.'; An example of the latter would be George Herbert's ';Praise (3),'; in which the generosity of God is compared to a bottle which (';As we have boxes for the poor';) will take in an infinite amount of the speaker's tears.

An often-cited example of the metaphysical conceit is the metaphor from John Donne's ';The Flea,'; in which a flea that bites both the speaker and his lover becomes a conceit arguing for the depth of their union:

Oh stay! three lives in one flea spare

Where we almost, yea more than married are.

This flea is you and I, and this

Our marriage-bed and marriage-temple is.What does the literary term Controlling metaphor mean? could u give an example also from a piece of literature

Could someone please give me some examples of how religion controls music that is produced today?

For thousands of Orthodox Jews, the “Big Event” — a concert featuring the popular Hasidic entertainer Lipa Schmeltzer — was supposed to happen next Sunday at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden. But fans and organizers were shocked to learn late last month that a group of rabbis had issued an edict against the show, effectively canceling it.Could someone please give me some examples of how religion controls music that is produced today?
Music controls religion. You got that backwards.Could someone please give me some examples of how religion controls music that is produced today?

Does Russia provide us with an example of what life would be like if the religious right controlled America?

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0鈥?/a>Does Russia provide us with an example of what life would be like if the religious right controlled America?
Russia is NOTHING like America, thank the ancestral gods! Russians, in general, do not approve of homosexuality now and during the Communist time. Homosexuality was considered to be an example of Western decadence. If you're gay in Russia, you keep quiet about it. Most people are just trying to survive and dont care unless you are overly public about your personal life. As the story said, it was mostly Orthodox church and neo-Nazis holding the protests.

Things happen behind the scenes and most people in large cities know where to go if you wanted to find gay partners. Again, most people dont care unless you're not discreet.

Actually, the American religious right would and do behave worse! Some of the most illogically inane statements I've heard in my life came from American religious right.

BTW: Russia is NOT an atheist state. There are large populations of Russian Orthodox, Muslims and others, as well as atheist. Russia is not communist, either.Does Russia provide us with an example of what life would be like if the religious right controlled America?
No !!Russia is an atheist state, which is why the gay activists are so wrong about christians hating them. In Christian america, gays have freedom, in atheist Russia gays can't even walk down the street holding hands or sillly little rainbow flags without being arrested. The russians still hold homosexuality to be a mental disorder and still incarcerate people for being gay.
I didn't open that link, but is it about how Moscow police put down the Gay Parade a half a week ago? If it's that then I totally agree, it was a horrible thing to do. One man at the scene said ';Gays have no right to be here in Russia';.
actually russia is mostly atheist, so it wouldnt be a very good example.
do not ever compare yourselves or your situation with russia. it so different.
in the south the religious right had on the white hood and was doing the hanging
I think ';hell'; would be a better example.

Can you give me some examples of somebody being controlling?

please help me!Can you give me some examples of somebody being controlling?
Your friend is controlling if it is always her who decides where you go, what clothes you should buy - she doesn't listen to your opinion or consider your feelings about anything.

A boss can be controlling if he ';micro-manages'; his staff. Laying down rules for every single task and not letting anyone use their own judgement or initiative.

People begin to lose their confidence and self-esteem in these situations. Can you give me some examples of somebody being controlling?
controlling people make judgment statements or facial expressions.

some thing like saying ';i don't know about you'; or raising their eye brows when you open up - or telling you that you are inappropriate - or demanding you apologize when you have done nothing wrong - or cutting off contact when you do something they do not approve of and they behave in a catty manner.

if you do not feel ok around someone chances are you ought not be around them - do not try to live up to an others expectation of you.
