In recent years, there has been a resurgence of smallpox and other diseases that were eradicated here in the U.S. coming back as a result of illegal immigration. Imagine if the Swine Flu was a slow epidemic that didn't rear its head for 2-3 years ... imagine how many U.S. citizens would be affected because of uncontrolled immigration.





I'm perfectly fine with immigration because we are a nation of immigrants, but I want to see people come her in an orderly fashion. Legal immigrants are subject to medical screenings prior to entry that will reveal any medical situations that could pose a health hazard.Is Swine Flu Just Another Example of Why We Need CONTROLLED Immigration?
No. More people die each year of the regular flu. Maybe we should let other countries know that so they can keep us out.

Swine Flu Is Bad Enough, Yet Republicans Always Manage to Make It Worse
Considering how most of the US cases have been tourists who travelled to mexico on vacation, or were Mexican tourists vacationing in the US. No amount of border control would stop the flu from getting to the US, short of turning the entire country into a maximum security prison.
Yes, I'd say it's definitely a wake-up call, but unfortunately our politicians seem determined NOT to face up to the numerous threats posed by uncontrolled immigration.

Certainly there are some diseases that are brought here from tourists, citizens returning home and from immigration (both legal and illegal). Foreign born populations are much more likely to have diseases, including communicable ones like TB, measles, leprosy and flu. www.cdc.gov





There are many other good reasons to limit our immigration numbers and to have strict controls over who can immigrate and how many should be allowed to enter. These reasons are much more easily definable and include public safety, job security, energy Independence, water shortages, infrastructure costs, space in schools/hospitals/housing/etc.





Once we reach a certain point in our population growth there will be no ability to put the genie back in the bottle and our children %26amp; grandchildren will be left to clean up the mess. This country does not have the natural resources to support the people we already have - why bring in millions more that just makes us more vulnerable to foreign powers???

Swine flue is one.. there are a large number more and I believe most of them are not Hot House Viruses. The Green Belt of Africa and the Green Belt of South America are two of the major sources of pathogens with very high potentials to change the way we live by 100%
It is an indication of quite how out of touch with reality those who get wound up about immigration are.


There is NO correlation, most cases of swine flu in the States will come from tourists returning, and once it's here it's here, it doesn't much care about its route.

The conclusion I draw is that those who are over anxious about immigration are not very much interested in facts or thoughts.
Get real. This type of thing have no Effect on Immigration. Doing such thing might would Increase the chances of it spreading here. Remember GOD don't like Ulgy.
